Step 1-

Using a large 12 x12 mask mist your paper with the contrasting colours starting with the lightest colour first. Once your happy with the result set aside to dry, or you can use a heat gun; to stop it cardstock from warping dry the front and the back in alternate turns.

Step 2 –
Using Stanz on ink or any other Archival ink; stamp over your misted background with your script and music note stamps. I don’t use a block for this as it allows me to make it patchier to blend with the background. Once you have finished this use your Prima brick stamps and stamp around the edges.

Step 3 –
Using your smaller template cover  your background with texture paste, in a random pattern. Once you have done that add some more texture paste around the edge of your layout also in a random pattern. Allow to dry you can also use a heat gun for this step.

Step 4 –
Using a pipette or dropper, add large splashes with Heidi Swapp Colorshine – Gold lame. I have added mine in a diagonal pattern starting in the right hand corner up to the top left hand corner. Allow to dry. ( I don’t tend to use a heat gun on this step as it blows my splashes around too much and they lose their shape).

Step 5 –
You should end up with a background like this.

Step 6 –
To finish off the background add some stamped butterflies approximately ¾ of the way on the layout, I try to make them look like they are flying up the page.

Step 7 –
Now it’s a matter of completing your layout with your photos, pattern papers and embellishments.
